Nuisance flies

Nuisance flies breed rapidly under ideal conditions such as those in intensive animal production units. Prime examples include dairies, feedlots, piggeries, chicken farms and horse studs, as well as council dumps and waste facilities.

Large numbers of flies cause irritation to stock and have the capacity to reduce productivity. They also are responsible for transmission of many disease organisms including those that cause pink eye and mastitis in dairy cattle.

Solutions

Spalangia mix contains specialised parasitic wasps that are uniquely adapted to developing in fly pupae thus offering a natural, biological and sustainable approach to managing fly populations. As with all of our products we strongly recommend that Spalangia mix be used as a component in a broader IPM strategy that helps to reduce the opportunities for flies to breed in the first place.
