Fruit Fly Posters

$79.42$99.33

A set of two Fruit Flies of Australia posters. Available either laminated or unlaminated.

Description

Bugs for Bugs has sponsored the second in a pair of magnificent large wall posters on Australian fruit flies. This set of two posters now covers the entire range of fruit flies that may infest commercial crops, as well as several non-pest fly species commonly collected in traps.

A total of eleven species of fruit flies are featured on the new poster. Most have been photographed alive by leading insect photographers. For many species, these are the first photographs ever published. Information provided on each species includes their attraction to male chemical attractant lures, plant host attacked, distribution and identification. The methods of eradication and suppression of fruit fly populations are featured. Fruit disinfestation techniques are also shown.

These two posters provide a practical resource for export and packing houses; agricultural advisors in both the private and government sectors; quarantine authorities within Australia and overseas; and various educational institutions. They also offer a valuable aid to those horticulturalists who undertake control measures based on the monitoring of fruit fly numbers in traps. Copies of both the first and second posters are available.

Actual size of posters: 970 mm x 650 mm

Disclaimer:

While we make every effort to supply you with beneficial insects and mites to help improve your pest management, and to reduce the need for pesticides, we cannot guarantee the outcome in every situation.  Our biocontrol agents do feed readily on the species that we have specified in our tech sheets and on our website.  However, there are many variables including accurate pest identification, plant species, pest density, numbers of beneficials released, environmental conditions and history of pesticide usage that influence the outcomes.  We will always do our best to help you achieve a positive outcome but we simply cannot guarantee that your problem will be solved to your satisfaction.  Because every situation is unique we are constantly learning about how best to use our good bugs.  We appreciate any feedback from your experience.
